Central Arkansas Economy Among the Strongest in the U.S.

A new study shows the Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway metro area economies rank among the top 5 in the country.

Using data and analysis from the Brooking Institution new Metro Monitor study.  Business Week.COM selected the top 40 economies based on job growth, employment, economic growth and home prices.

San Antonio led the list, followed by Austin, Oklahoma City, Little Rock and Dallas.

The 2009 City Budget is over 194 Millon Dollars.  It appears to me that the City of Little Rock has the money to give a COLA to the Old Police Retired Members.  They are now paying for a 3% COLA for Police Members hired after 1983.  It also appears to me that the City of Little Rock has a bright future.

The City of Hot Springs, Arkansas in the past has approved a 3% COLA for the Old Police Member .  I don’t see Hot Springs in Top 5 Cities in the U.S. for the Strongest Economy.

Thanks,

Lee Harrod
