To use this website, you should know that it will always open to the “Home” page. Once there, just click on any link under the “Categories” menu tab at the end of the horizontal menu below the picture of Little Rock. The website is laid out like a book. The Home page is the “introduction” and the pages listed under the Article Category menu tab are the “chapters” of the book. Once you click on an Article Category listing (a chapter), you will notice the first “Article” in a Category just tells you what that particular category is for and its text will be “burgundy” in color. After that post is a list of Articles in chronological order that members have posted with only the “Title” of the Article and a little text displayed to give you an idea of what is contained in each Article. You will be able to read the entire Article posted by our members and the comments from the general public and pension members about the Article by clicking on the title link of the article you want to read or clicking the “read the rest of this entry” link, if available.
For now, “Comments” to Articles will be accepted from anyone to give members of the general public as well as Police Pension members an opportunity to comment on Articles posted on this Website. To post a “comment” to an Article, just click the “Comments” link (it may say “No Comments” if there are none or specify the number of comments previously posted) at the bottom of the Article you wish to comment on. This will open the “Leave a Reply” boxes. You will just have to enter your name and email address in the “Post a Reply” boxes, type in your comment, and click the “Submit Comment” button to post your comment to the Article. See our “How to Comment” page for photographs explaining it better. The first two comments you submit will be subject to automatic review to prevent “spam” comments so don’t get mad because your first two comments are not instantly available. After the review of your first two comments, your future comments will instantly appear. The privilege for the general public to post comments may be withdrawn, if the police pension membership determines it to be undesirable or unnecessary.
Pension members can post whatever they want (within reason) in their comments to Articles so that other pension members are aware of their thoughts and ideas about any topic under discussion. Members can also respond to another person’s comments if they wish. Members can even post Articles about any topic they wish to share with other pension members by upgrading their website membership for free. Please see the information under the “About This Website” tab and click the “How to Register” link for more information on this topic and view our “How to Post Articles” page to see how posting an Article is done. Posting an Article on this website requires a registration by a Police Pension member and is very simple.
At a minimum, I will post the “Draft” of the Monthly Minutes of the Pension Board and the latest Audio Tape available for each meeting under the “Pension Board” menu tab in the “Pension Board Audio” link. I plan on attending every Pension Board meeting so that I can obtain current information and report on it here. It is my hope that pension members and pension board members will post articles and comments to articles that will keep everyone informed and updated as to the status of our pension fund.
Finally, please remember that this website is a “work in progress” and can be viewed by ANYONE with a computer and Internet connection.” If you have any ideas or suggestions about improving the website, please make them known by sending me an email at lrppnews@gmail.com or making a ”Comment” under the ”This Website” category. We will be adding and changing things as time goes by so check back often for updates. Also, please try to remember that this is a “non-profit” website so it may take longer for things to change than you may like because I may be busy doing something else.
I hope this website proves to be a valuable resource to all retired members who want to read it.
