This page shows how to create an Article or Post on this Blog. The red text in each picture are my notes showing you where you need to click or what you need to do.
- Click the word “Log-In” in the ”Links” section of the right side menu below:

2. Below is the screen you will then see. Just fill in YOUR username and password and click on the blue “Log In” button.

3. Below is the “Dashboard” screen that will appear after you have logged in. Click on the “Posts” link to go to the next page.
4. The below “Edit Posts” screen will open. Here, you need to click on the “Add New” link under the same menu. If you have made other posts before on the Blog, a little menu will appear under each of your posts when you mouse over the article name that says ” Edit | Quick Edit | Delete | View “ From that little menu, you can manage any post you have previously made. That little menu will not appear if you haven’t made any posts so just click on the “Add New” link for now.

5. The below “Add New Post” screen will open. Here is where you actually “write” your article. First, you write a Title (red text “a”) to your article in the top box. Then, you can either wright your article in the larger box below the bunch of buttons (red text “b”) or copy and paste an article from a word processor. Once you have finished writting your article, you should select the Category you want it saved to (red text “c”) by clicking on the box beside the Category name. The last thing you need to do is to use the “More” button (red text “h”). It is the first of the two little button in the menu above your text that looks like two blocks stacked on top of each other. When you “mouse over” the button, it will say, “Insert More tag”. Position your cursor at the end of your first paragraph or where ever you’d like to use the text above the insertion point as a “teaser” to get people interested in reading your article. That will allow just the “teaser” portion of the Article to appear in the list of Articles in that category. Then, the viewer can just click on the Title or the “Read the rest of this entry” to read the whole article. Then, you can click on the “Publish” button (red text “f”) to save your work to the Blog. Two other optioins you have is to use the “Preview Button” (red text “d”) to preview your post before it is published or click on the “Save Draft” button (red text “e”) to save your work without publishing it to the Blog.
Just a note about all the buttons in the menu above where your article goes, you can “mouse over” each button to see what that particular button will do. For example, clicking on the “B” button will “Blod” your text. Each button has a differnt function. You can play with them to see what each one does.
a. Enter the Title of your article.
b. Wright your article in this section. You can cut and paste it from a word processor if you like.
c. Click on the “Category you want to post the article under.
d. Click on “Preview” button on the right side menu to if you would like to see the post preview.
e. Click on the “Draft” button if you do want to save the post to work on at a later time, or
f. Click on the “Publish” button to post the article to the Blog.
g. Click on the “Log Out” link in the upper right corner of your screen.
h. “More” button – to show a “teaser” in the category listing.

That’s it. Really easy wasn’t it. One important thing to remember is that you CANNOT screw anything up! If you get frustrated, just “Log Out” (red text “g”) and try again later. When you Log Out, you will get another “Log In” menu like in step #2. If you want, you can just ignore that and go on using your computer like you normally would or you can log back into the Blog.
